Tips on AI follow-up, appointment setting, and growing your real estate business.

Every text you send to a new prospect starts with one moment: the opt-in. If your website form, landing page or ad form does not ask for clear consent, your follow-up system is built on sand. Good consent language protects the people you contact, protects your phone numbers with the carriers, and protects your business.
This post walks through what clear consent language on a real estate opt-in form usually covers. It is general information, not legal advice. Rules like the TCPA and carrier A2P 10DLC requirements change, so check with your attorney before you finalize your forms.
Carriers review your A2P 10DLC registration, and part of that review is how people agree to receive texts from you. If the form is vague, your registration can be rejected or your messages can be filtered. Worse, texting someone who never agreed can expose you to complaints and legal risk.
An AI follow-up system can respond to a new inquiry in seconds. That speed only helps if the person on the other end asked to hear from you. So the form comes first.
Most well-built opt-in forms answer the same basic questions for the person filling them out:
The SMS consent checkbox should be unchecked by default. The person should tick it themselves. Keep it separate from other agreements, so they can submit the form without agreeing to texts if they prefer email or a call.
Place the consent language right next to the checkbox and the phone field. Do not hide it in small grey text at the bottom of the page or behind a link only.
Consent you cannot prove is hard to rely on. A good CRM setup can save the date, time, form name and the exact wording the person agreed to. Tag the contact as opted in, so your automations only text people with that tag.
If you change your consent wording later, keep a copy of the old version. That way you know what each contact agreed to and when.
Opting out has to be as easy as opting in. When someone replies STOP, your system should stop texting them and mark the contact as opted out. Your AI follow-up should never try to talk them out of it. Also respect softer requests like "please stop texting me" by routing them to a person for review.
Once the form is right, AI can do the heavy lifting. It can reply to a new seller inquiry right away, ask a few qualifying questions, and offer times on your calendar. It can send reminders before appointments. And it can pass the conversation to you when a person is ready to talk.
The key is that it only texts contacts who opted in and it honors STOP every time. That keeps your follow-up fast, respectful and easier to defend.
Review your forms with your attorney, and make sure they match what you submitted in your A2P registration.
